Celebrating its 15th year across the globe, Global Wellness Day united millions under the #JoyMagenta theme reaffirming that joy is not a luxury, but a necessity.

Istanbul, Türkiye – Saturday, June 13, 2026, marked the fifteenth annual Global Wellness Day (GWD), a landmark milestone for the world’s largest not-for-profit wellness movement. Under the rallying theme #JoyMagenta, millions of people across the globe came together for complimentary wellness activities, choosing joy as an act of intention, community, and self-care. From sunrise yoga sessions and gratitude walls to sound healing, creative arts, and cultural celebrations, the fifteenth edition of Global Wellness Day was the movement’s most joyful yet.

In a now-iconic tradition, the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge in Istanbul, the bridge that connects two continents and symbolises the spirit of Global Wellness Day, was once again illuminated in magenta.

“For fifteen years, Global Wellness Day has been a testament to the transformative power of a

single day of intention,” says Belgin Aksoy, Founder of Global Wellness Day. “This year, the

world chose joy, not as a fleeting feeling, but as a practice, a posture, and a path. Seeing millions

of people pause, gather, move, create, and connect under the #JoyMagenta theme is one of the

greatest joys I have ever witnessed. The magenta light on iconic landmarks across the globe

reminded us all that joy is a force that unites us.”
